3 things we learned in 8 years of coaching

Note: Make sure you read until the end for an important update about Nerd Fitness Coaching!

In the past 8 years we have had thousands of conversations with customers, rebels and members of the community.

We have held polls, read answers and listened carefully to what people struggle with.

Time and time again, variations of three explanations continued.

  • “Just tell me what to do.”
  • “I have to see signs of progress.”
  • “I can’t stay motivated.”

Each of these reveals an underlying pitfall where I see people falling in, and I want to help you not make the same mistakes!

“Just tell me what to do.”

Pitfall: Exaggerated restrictive plans that burn out

Need: Clarity that fits your life

People I talk to feel overwhelmed and overloaded.

They already have a ton on their plates with work, family and other responsibilities.

It is no wonder that there is a strong desire for someone to simplify things just!

But it is counterproductive when it leads to plans that do not fit well with your life.

Exercises that are not the right level, restrictive meal plans and schedules that assume that you have all the time and energy in the world, simply burn out and back at square.

We have learned to emphasize Fit and flexibility First.

That way you get clarity about the next steps, while you also ensure that there is sufficient flexibility to suit you well. ❤️

“I have to see signs of progress.”

Pitfall: jump from one program to the next

Need: Multiple levels of Feedbacklussen

Change is difficult.

And it’s even harder if it feels like you are turning your wheels and doesn’t get anywhere! I bet that many of us have started a new training or a new nutrition program, just to get on the scale or look in the mirror and feel empty and as if nothing happens.

This can lead to programming hopping – so fast jumping from one to the other that it is difficult to evaluate their effectiveness.

Fitness is like investing: the biggest return takes time!

So here is how we approach that: we both follow Effort and results.

  • Attempt: Training completed, habits practiced, consistency
  • Results: Strength gain, body composition, easier to move through your day, sleep quality, energy levels, etc.

Victories in consistency are one early Form of progress. They are the first step to evaluate whether a program suits you well.

Provals in results come later, but are still important to consider evaluating any changes that must be made.

Some tools that we would like to reach each of these:

  • Jar of great (attempt): Every time you make a choice that you are proud of, add a marble (or comment) to the pot. View the victories.
  • Zoom sessions out (Results): Set a rhythm (we recommend every 2-6 weeks) to evaluate your progress. This prevents you from adjusting things too quickly and also gives you clear check -in points to make changes.

Having feedback klussen in each of these areas makes it easier to stay confident and patient. 🙌

“I can’t stay motivated.”

Pitfall: all-or-nothing thinking

Needed: Systems that support consistency

This is the big one. Life becomes messy. People get sick, work runs late, chaos happens.

It is easy to be beaten from course and to accuse ourselves and our lack of motivation because they are unable to see things through.

This leads to a lot of all-or-nothing thinking.

Or we are all in it (and it is going great!), Or we will be beaten and wrestling to get back on the right track.

Here you can read how you can avoid that pitfall:

The more you practice to implement these systems, the easier it will be to keep Momentum. 💪

Quick checklist

Adjust yourself when you look at your own plan:

1. Does it give me clarity that really fits my life?

2. I have feedback klussen to follow the effort And Results?

3. Do I have systems to help me stay there when life gets messy?

If so … great! You are ready for success.

If not … no worries. Start with which you feel the weakest and kiss it first.

And if you want help with the implementation of these strategies, this is a good time to become a member of Nerd Fitness Coaching!
